Internet Marketing Promotion

I have put together my top 10 list of ways to promote your web-site or on-line business. Internet Marketing Promotion should definitely be a part of your weekly schedule, getting your business, products or brand out there means traffic and sales, which equals $$: –

10 Tips for Internet Marketing Promotion

1. Writing great Content with a  Keyword Rich Title for each Page

Good unique content is vital to the success of your web-site, content is what will bring your readers back again and again.  Keep your content fresh and informative, keep it easy to understand and post regular articles at least one or two per week.  Make sure you keep your content relevant and on topic so you appeal to your target audience. Most importantly, before you publish your web page check it and check it again for grammar and spelling mistakes, this shows you are a professional and people will be more inclined to re-visit your site and hopefully buy from you.

Search Engine OptimizationAnother great Internet Marketing Promotion tip is to have a Keyword Rich Title for each web page, in other words make sure your targeted keyword is in your title and your URL, preferably if possible, towards the left.

2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

According to Wikipedia “Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site or a web page (such as a blog) from search engines via “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results as opposed to search engine marketing (SEM) which deals with paid inclusion”.

On page SEO Tips:

– Keyword Relevancy(keywords need to be relevant to your content)

Keyword Density approx. 2.5%

– Images and Tags(images can tell a story and attract traffic to your site)

– Links in and Links out(Link back to other pages on your site, plus link out to authority sites, for example Wikipedia)

– Bold, Italic and Underline at least once in your article

By following these  5 simple tips it will help improve your rankings with the search engine’s and increase traffic to your web-site.

3. Offer a Free Service or Download

A great way to build a customer base for future reference is to offer your readers something for free, this could be for example a free trial download of your product or service, an e-book or access to more specialized information such as a members area, just to name a few.  This is a great way to not only promote your web-site but reward your readers, so they continue to come back to your site.

4. Affiliate Marketing

While you are building an Internet Marketing Business developing your own products and services, a great Internet Marketing Promotion idea is to sell other people’s products on your site and be paid a commission.  The products and services need to be relevant to your content and you may like to do a separate review or sales page focusing on the benefits of the product. There are several affiliate networks on-line such as Clickbank, Amazon and Commission Junction, all of these programs are free to register and pay commissions as high as 75%.Pay Per Click Advertising

5.  Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay Per Click Advertising is the placement of a small ad on the search results page for a specific keyword or keyword phrase in return for a specified payment when a visitor actually clicks on the ad.  The term “pay per click” means just that, the advertiser pays each time a visitor clicks on the ad. Search engines such as Google and Yahoo are the most popular advertisers, Google has Google Adwords and Yahoo has Yahoo Search Marketing.  The great thing about Pay Per Click Advertising is that it generates traffic immediately and creates interest in your web-site, it can also give an immediate return on investment.

I like your tips Belinda, especially the On-Page SEO tips.

The perfect Keyword Density is difficult to get right. What many do forget is not to fall into the trap of ‘keyword stuffing’. Many don’t realize is that if they follow what you have put in Tip 1, you don’t need to try and compensate for it by adding so many keywords that the content loses its flow and readability.

Straight forward advice that all website owners can benefit from. Good job Belinda. I’m also a big fan of offering additional value through a downloadable freebie. This goes the extra distance, separating you from your competition and giving your customers the chance to ‘try before they buy’ risk free.

Hi Belinda – I like you’re snippets of information on each tip – it gives the reader something to think about, without the overload of information. I’ve done quite a lot with pay per click advertising on a product website and apart from the sales it generates, it helps ranking, because so many more people are clicking on my website than otherwise would be. Great post – thanks.

Hi Belinda,

Succinct and great for those starting out. A good idea to offer a free download and also a good reminder about the tags.

Happy Easter!

Thanks for your insight on affiliate marketing. I have a few tips of my own to offer. First, realize this is not an overnight business. It might take a few months after you start for the real income to start flowing in, especially when using whitehat methods such as SEO to bring in traffic. Second, resist the urge to promote every single cool looking offer or brand new product you find. It is better to focus on one product or service at a time, researching and finding everything you can about thet product or service, and throwing everything you can at the promotion of that product. Once promotion of a particular product or service is bringing in steady income for you, then you can consider promoting another product. Third, it is very important that you research and create a business plan before you start, and then always stick with that plan while you work. Affiliate marketing takes work, but if done correctly, everyone can make some money.
