What are the Advantages of Having a Facebook Fan Page
A Facebook Fan Page is one of the most effective ways to market your business on Facebook. One of the biggest advantages of creating a Facebook Fan Page is that the number of fans is unlimited, unlike your personal profile where there are only so many friends you can have before Facebook rules that you must move to a fan page. So you can have as many fans on your Facebook Fan Page as you like.
A fan page is also good for SEO purposes, you can optimise your fan page using your tarketed keywords. The great thing is it will be picked up internally by Facebook as well as by all the major search engines. Within a short time your page should start appearing in search results internally and externally.
A fan page is also a great way to build links. You can link content from your website, blog, and other social networking sites to your Facebook Fan Page and vice a versa.
How to Create a Facebook Fan Page
I found this short easy to follow video on How to create a Facebook Fan Page:-
How to Use the Facebook Fan Page to Promote your Business or Web-site
Once you have created your fan page, you need to build a fan base. The best way to start getting fans is to send the standard suggestion message to all your existing contacts asking them to become a fan of your page. In addition, try asking those who join to ask some of their friends to join, this works best if you offer them some kind of incentive for recruiting.
Once you start gaining fans, make sure you utilize the fan page to its full advantage. The most important thing to do is simply interact with your fans by responding to each person who writes on your wall. This creates discussion and buzz between your group members, maybe offer some kind of benefit or prize when you reach a certain number of Facebook fans.
Many major corporations are using the power of a Facebook Fan Page to drive traffic and increase sales, this type of targeted advertising is rapidly becoming one of the preferred forms of Internet Marketing for business’s across the globe. Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
Hi Belinda,
Facebook is certainly taking the World by storm. In March 2010, Facebook was the most visited internet site (beating Google). As time progresses indications are it continue to be the dominant force in the interactive webspace. All businesses need a piece of this pie. And for small businesses this could never be easier – no need to wade through the endless red tape, committees and legalities that their big business cousins face. Go for it.

Hi Belinda,
This is something I’m still ‘getting around’ to doing. Thanks for reinforcing why it’s such a great idea. Everything I read says that Facebook is a serious rival for Google. So, it definitely makes sense to make the most of what they offer.
Hi Belinda
Agree 100%. Since creating my fan pages my message has got out there very quickly. If you are in the right market the fans will search you out. This is what has happened to me. I don’t actively promote the pages apart from on my sites.
